OMG Pop Shoppe Pop is back!

Ah, Pop Shoppe Pop and the memories I have when I was a kid. Back in the early 80's we had a store called The Pop Shoppe and all they sold was Pop Shoppe Pop. It was a treat for us to go to The Pop Shoppe once a month and pick out the flavours of pop we liked the most. My favorites were Black Cherry, Grape, Green Lime and cream soda. Back then pop was a treat and we rarely had any. When we visited our Great Uncle Dave in Nanaimo, he would send us downstairs and we would pick out some Pop Shoppe Pop. It was great. So, when I saw some at the store today, I just had to buy some. I am wondering if it tastes as good as I remember. I picked out black cherry, Mike picked rootbeer, we bought cola for Sean and grape fro Kelsey. We are going to enjoy our pops tonight with a movie. Kels isn't home, but don't worry Kels we won't drink yours with out replacing it!

Beware of identity theft

Times keep changing and fraud and identity theft are becoming more prevalent. We are all cautious and sensitive to this issue. I thought that this blog posting was a great refresher to remind us to keep vigilant.

Date night last night

We had a great time last night with our friends Rick & Judy. We started the night off by having dinner at our favorite restaurant, Trattoria's Pasta Shop. The food was amazing as always. Then after dinner we headed over to the movie theater and watched the new Clint Eastwood movie, Gran Torino. It was a good show, but not what I was expecting. It's named after a car, but Clint Eastwood doesn't drive the car in the movie. So, no races or burn outs. We laughed our heads off at some parts in the movie. You'll have to watch it and let me know what you think of it. It's rated PG because of some bad language and violence. It has a good story line to it. Lots of action/drama.

Disgruntled Korean War vet Walt Kowalski sets out to reform his neighbor, a young Hmong teenager, who tried to steal Kowalski's prized possession: his 1972 Gran Torino. Clint Eastwood actores in the drama "Gran Torino" marking his first film role since his Oscar-winning "Million Dollar Baby." Eastwood also directs the movie in which he plays Walt Kowalski, an iron will and veteran live in a changing world, who are forced of their immigrant background neighbors to confront his own long-held prejudices

Spring is coming!

Winter is almost over and we can see the deer wandering around now.

Must be a sign that Spring is coming!LOL!

All this snow and some cool pics of my nephews

Since my nephews don't usually get this much snow, they seem to enjoy playing in it. They both had their picture taken in a snow cave, which I believe is now a snow tunnel (that is in their front yard). It brings back memories of the snow cave I made when I was 13 out at winter camp. The picture turned out so nice, my mom had is blown up to poster size. The poster was up on the wall for 23 years; just above the piano. Now my parents have moved and yes, the picture of me in poster size went with them. They hung it up on the wall downstairs, by the piano (when I was there for Christmas).I thought that was pretty cool. With the pictures of my nephews,I have one as my screen saver at home and one on my work computer. That way I can enjoy seeing the boys, even though I am sick to death of all this snow. You can get some pretty cool shots in the winter with the snow. I still love the picture my sister took of us at our wedding with the snow in the background. She took some pretty amazing pictures and so did my other friends and family.

I finally have a decent Vacuum

Just before Christmas my old Elecrolux vacuum cleaner broke down and this time it's not worth getting fixed. For the past 7 years that vacuum cleaner sucked, or literally didn't actually suck. But we kept fixing it, hoping it would make it though. We had looked at getting a Dyson, but every time we would save up to get it, something came up and we couldn't afford it. Then we decided that since we only have carpet in the living room, that we would wait until the Electrolux dies before we buy a new one. So, why does it have to die just before Christmas? You know we had a real Christmas tree and all those needles that fell off and landed on the carpet. Sean had the car vacuum out and was vacuuming on his hands and knees. It was quite the sight, but I knew we couldn't go on like that. So, I ordered a Dyson Ball Vacuum, you know the kind that goes around everything. The TV commercials made us feel confident about their product. So, our new vacuum arrived on our anniversary. So, I guess you could say I received a new vacuum for our anniversary. It works great and I could not believe how clean our carpet looked and you could see how much dirt it sucked up. I don't think that the vacuum we were using before was even 25% this good. So, I would definately recommend a Dyson to everyone.
This is the model we bought.

Turns on a dime. No loss of suction.
Features:
Root Cyclone™ technology
Ball™ technology
Ultra-lightweight and compact
Reversible wand
Models include:
All Floors
And best of all, I had enough air miles to get it for free!

Tomorrow we celebrate out 4th anniversary

It's hard to believe that Sean and I have been married for 4 years. Wow time sure goes by fast. Lots of great things have happened in the past 4 years and some no so great things happened too. I guess that's just life. We are still as happy as ever and I thank God for bringing such a wonderful man into my life. Now, I am thinking to myself, why the heck did we pick January to get married in. It's always cold and snowy in January. Our anniversary sneaks up on us every year as it is 2 weeks after Christmas. I don't know about you guys, but it seems every year we are short on any extra cash after the holidays and don't recover until mid-Jan. So with that in mind, we are planning for our 5th anniversary now. We want to have 3-4 days at The Hills Health Ranch where Sean and I were married. You are invited to join us if you like. You'll have to get your own Chalet though. I am hoping that some of my friends and family will be able to come. It's so much fun there. We'll go tubing and skating. I am hoping to get a horse driven sleigh ride.

Horse Race Game

This Wood Horse Racing game has a sliding game top. The Horses, dice, and cards store inside the game board. Roll the dice to move the horses. If the results match your hand of cards, you win. For 2 or more players. Ages 8 and up.
We had a great time New Year's Eve. playing this game with a bunch of friends. My friend Judy owns the game. She said it originated in Sask. It's an awesome game to play and I want to buy one one day soon. I wonder if my Sask. friends have seen or played this game. As usual, Sean beat us at it - he seems to be lucky when playing with poker chips.
