It's been a good day

It might be cold outside, but the sun is shining. It's been a good day. I am done my press inventory and I am all caught up on our payables.

I am going to be baking tonight for the Pathfinders. For a fundraiser, they are doing a scrapbooking weekend and my daughter was asked to bring 3 dozen muffins. I am using a friendship muffin recipe and hopefully it turns out. The recipe says it will make 5 dozen. I am hoping to have some to bring to bible study on Thurs. It's a 2 week process of stiring daily and adding ingredients every few days. Tonight I am finishing them off and I am passing off a portion of the recipe to 3 friends and we will see how long this recipe will go on for. It's too bad a few of my friends live in other cities and will miss out on these muffins. I tried this recipe about a year ago and they were very delicious.

My son has a very bad cough again and we are hoping it doesn't turn into something worse. I don't think either of us enjoy having to go to the hospital for ventilen treatments. We have been very lucky for the past 2 years, so keep him in your prayers.

I am going to read some more of a book that my friend lent me (Odd Thomas). I am enjoying it, but I am finding it hard to find time to read. I am about half way through. Last night I went to read in my room and just as I was starting to get into my book, the neighbours decided to try out the stereo in their car at full blast. Their driveway is right across from my bedroom. Then, my kids kept bugging me about silly things. I was able to delve into it and read a few chapters. Reading makes me feel more sane. I guess it is because I work in numbers all day and I like to read actual words. I have always enjoyed reading. I actually went and read some random blogs on line today.

Monday Maddness

Moday was such a terrible day at work. I thought I was going MAD. With email down and my accounting program not working and it was the start of my month end too, no wonder I was frustrated. Luckily, everything was up and running by lunch time. It did make me behind, so I took some work home with me. Now I am almost caught up. Don't you find that your first day back after your weekend is always hectic?? For the record, today is soooo much better even though it is still month end.
Happy Tuesday!!!

What ever did we do before internet???

I am frustrated because my internet at home has been working off and on over the past few days. My daughter, who is in grade 7, needed to go on the internet to do part of her homework assignment the other night. BUT MY INTERNET WAS DOWN!!! Then I think to myself what happens to the kids whose parents do not have internet at home? If I am deperate for internet, I can always drive to work (it's only 5 min. away!) But the roads are very icey, so that's not an option right now. If my internet is not working when I get home tonight, I will be calling SHAW to complain (they advertise the best broadband internet..say no to slow). My son, who is in grade 5, has a science fair coming up and he was asked by his teacher to go look some ideas up on the internet last night. Again the internet was down. GRRR. What ever did we do before internet???

Renovations

It sounds like we will be starting renovations in our kitchen next month. It's so much work, but a lot of fun too. Our reno's started last year during Spring Break when my kids were away for 2 weeks. We decided to update their bedrooms to suit their age. Pastels blue and pink just isn't in for 10 and 12 year olds. We also decided to do our bedroom. We got rid of the golden shag rug and replaced it with a light cherrywood laminate floor. Next we worked on the bathroom. That started last summer when My Uncle gave us a new bathroom cabinet when we were visiting him. The bathroom cost us a lot more than we expected for such a tiny room. We still need to get the tub updated and put in new flooring. But in the mean time we are moving on into the kitchen. Oh, for those of you who haven't been to our house...we own a 35yr old Mobile Home. My hubby mistinted some paint at work for a customer and it just happens to be the color we wanted for the kitchen. So it looks like we have the paint to start the project. (Note:it was the customers fault they asked for the wrong kind of gloss paint..that is why it is called mistint.)
With the weather being so mild it will be the perfect time to do some painting and cutting moldings outside. I'll have to post some before and after pictures. I love color and we are using a lot of different colors through out the home. It should be fun. We might even get started this weekend!!! When it is all done I hope to have some company come. We have a spare room with a futon bed in it and we love to get visitors!!! Hint...hint..hint!!! You can come visit before it is done too.

Pressed for Time

Are you pressed for time??? Does it feel like there is not enough time in the day to get everything accomplished?? In the newspaper industry, we are always pressed for time. We have deadlines to get our paper to the press and when we are behind, it makes pretty much everone in the office behind. My job requires that I get he ads entered into the computer so that the production department can build the paper. It is quite interesting, but I find that I cannot remember what day it is. Right now we are getting close to deadline for Friday's paper January 26th. We are nearing the end of January already and I canot believe how fast time has gone by. Today the weather is very mild and the sun is up and the snow is melting. I am glad to have some nice weather and cannot wait until spring is here.
