David Roy Bothamley

David Roy Bothamley
November 30, 1945-July 11, 2008

David Bothamley of Nanaimo BC passed away suddenly on July 11, 2008 at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, after a year and a half battle with kidney disease. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Mary Bothamley, his brother Gary Bothamley (Nancy) and step son Carl Penman as well as many other family members.
He was predeceased by his father Roy Bothamley and his loving wife Janet Bothamley (nee Penman). He will be missed by all his caring family and friends in Nanaimo, Williams Lake, Maple Ridge and Ontario. David was born in Nanaimo and lived in several BC communities before settling down in Abbotsford, where he met and married Janet Penman. Shortly after getting married, they moved to Barrie Ontario to be closer to his wife’s family while she struggled with cancer. He returned back home to Nanaimo in 1996. Dave was a gentle soul who continuously looked on the bright side of things. He was jovial and loving, a wealth of information, liked listening to music and took great care of his mother, Mary. Dave lived with diabetes for several years, but he always put on a smile and looked forward to the future. As per Dave’s request, there will be no memorial service. Donations can be made in memory of David to The Canadian Diabetes Association. 255-2000 Island Hwy. North Nanaimo BC. V95 5W3.

My Uncle Dave was a wonderful man. I will miss his positive attitude on life, his smile every time we saw him and most of all his chuckle. He had a way to find good in every situation and we are truly blessed to have had him in our lives.
