School's Out! For the Teens.
Every year on the last official day of school, my teens get a pizza party. Kels started it when she was in grade 8 because she didn't get pizza every Friday like she did back in elementary school and Mike was still getting his pizza Fridays because he is 2 yrs younger than her. So it started Pizza and Jones Soda. Now this year they are both in high school, but have a little sister in elementary school, so they reminded me about the year end party. Mike decided to do his at lunch. So he invited some of his friends over and had pizza and Pop Shoppe Pop. I could've had the pizza delivered, but I decided to bring it home to them. (That way I also knew who was at the house). They played X-box and had a good time.
Kels decided to have her pizza party after school. It was a Mardi Gras theme
.
They had Mardi Gras Masks. Kels had made a couple of King Cakes. She iced them herself. I thought they turned out pretty good. I made the punch. It was grape punch, but when I added the 7 up it turned a bit more pink than purple. I was going for the Mardi Gras look with the 3 colors- purple, yellow and green. Kels painted her nails Mardi Gras style too.
And of course they had the beaded necklaces. I made jumalaya for our dinner keeping in with the Mardi Gras theme as well. Kels had her pizzas that she decided to get the kind you bake at home instead of Panago. I was quite surprised at that decision. She still got her Jones Sodas. I didn't take pictures of the teens in their masks because they all went down stairs and played pool and Just Dance on the Wii. The party was supposed to be over at 7pmish but most of them stayed longer. Brandi arrived after supper and got to spend the night.
Crystal has 4 more days of school. They are going bowling 1 day, having a funday and then kindy grad is on June 28th.
This school year has gone by very quick. Now we are all looking forward to summer holidays.
